Gymnocalycium striglianum 200

Pot size 11.5cm

A plant from the collection of the late Paul Bond, an incredible grower and friend to Mint. Please be aware while this plant has been repotted and fully checked, it has come from a greenhouse with some mealybug in existence.

We also don't know when Paul last watered, so some of the plants were quite dehydrated when they came to us. They have been given a light water, but may need some TLC once they reach their new homes.

Our best advice is to quarantine and treat any critters with rubbing alcohol or methylated spirits and a cotton bud or paintbrush. If anything goes wrong with the plant or you need further advice, please don't hesitate to contact us

About our rescue plants

All our rescue plants are extremely special. In some cases they have been brought into the country many years ago and meticulously cared for in someones back garden for tens of years.

The cost of purchasing & collecting these plants is very high, and usually the plants are complete one-offs. Because of this, we try and pass on as much information as possible. You are purchasing a real piece of history. If you are lucky enough to receive a handwritten name label with your plant, please do keep it with the plant as a reminder of the previous owner.

If not, we encourage you to write your own and re-start the plants labelling in your care.

Care advice

These plants require bright light. Water thoroughly but only when bone dry, and restrict watering from October to around March. See our care advice article for full details.

We also strongly recommend researching the plants name, as our care advice is generic and there may be additional steps to take to allow the plant to thrive.
