Haemanthus 'paintbrush flower' pup

Rescued from Margaret in Worcester, this was part of one huge plant that came to us incredible squashed and beaten up. These pups don't look like much at the moment, but give them another year of growth and you've got yourself a beautiful, easy care houseplant that produces amazing flowers at the end of summer.

About our rescue plants

All our rescue plants are extremely special. In some cases they have been brought into the country many years ago and meticulously cared for in someones back garden for tens of years.

The cost of purchasing & collecting these plants is very high, and usually the plants are complete one-offs. Because of this, we try and pass on as much information as possible. You are purchasing a real piece of history. If you are lucky enough to receive a handwritten name label with your plant, please do keep it with the plant as a reminder of the previous owner.

If not, we encourage you to write your own and re-start the plants labelling in your care.

Care advice

These plants require bright light. Water thoroughly but only when bone dry, and restrict watering from October to around March. See our care advice article for full details.

We also strongly recommend researching the plants name, as our care advice is generic and there may be additional steps to take to allow the plant to thrive.
