Notocactus leninghausii

A stunning, multiheaded Notocactus from Paul in Northampton. The fluffy spines of the Notocactus species are super interesting, with the colour turning to orange and then black with age. This plant recently flowered and has plenty of seed for harvesting if the new owner would like a project!

The plant is in a 26cm pot and is roughly 90cm tall.

About our rescue plants

All our rescue plants are extremely special. In some cases they have been brought into the country many years ago and meticulously cared for in someones back garden for tens of years. 

The cost of purchasing & collecting these plants is very high, and usually the plants are complete one-offs. Because of this, we try and pass on as much information as possible. You are purchasing a real piece of history. If you are lucky enough to receive a handwritten name label with your plant, please do keep it with the plant as a reminder of the previous owner.

If not, we encourage you to write your own and re-start the plants labelling in your care.

These plants require bright light. Water thoroughly but only when bone dry, and restrict watering from October to around March. See our care advice article for full details.
